Having studied the Chakra system and the ways in which crystals
and gem stones can help us center and balance these Energy fields,I
believe that this is one of the most important studies we can undertake
simply because it is working with our INTERNAL energies which DO, in
fact, create our EXTERNAL circumstances.
This is a fairly simple study sheet which will briefly describe each of
the 7 MAJOR Chakras (there ARE others), the crystals and gem stones
which work with each of them, and the kinds of healing work each is
meant to do.
Chakra in Sanksrit means "wheel", and the Chakras can be visualized
in meditation as revolving wheels of light and color. When any of the
Chakras is out of balance, the colors will be weak or muddy, and the
movement will be either sluggish and slow OR way too fast!
1. The Root Chakra: The Kundalini!
The Root Chakra is located at the base of the spine. Its primary
color is red, although black is acceptable as well. This is our survival
Chakra. Here we exercize our WILL. It is our life force, the strength
of our connection of living itself! It is also the place where we can
refuse to allow the Universe to teach us, believing that the strength
of our Will knows better.
Gem Stones and Crystals: Garnet,
Smoky Quartz, Black Onyx
For Healing: Depression, negative habits, anger, jealousy,
resentment, insecurity.
2. The Belly Chakra
Location: Lower Abdomen, between Root Chakra and the navel.
Color: Orange
Attributes: Flowing emotions, ability to feel emotions freely,
ability to reach out to others, sexuality.
Gem Stones and Crystals: Carnelian, Coral, Agate, Brown Jasper
For Healing: Exhaustion, pride, insomnia, joint dis-eases, lung problems.
To Inhance: creative visualization, vision, psychic sight, optimism, warm
links with others.
3. Solar Plexus
Location: Just above the navel.
Color: Clear Yellow
Attributes: This Chakra draws in psychic nourishment and
distributes it evenly to all the other Chakras.
This Chakra balances our emotional and mental
energies.
Gem Stones and Crystals: Topaz, Amber, Citrine Quartz, Yellow Floride.
For Healing: Lethargy, apathy, tiredness, mental stagnation, eating or
digestive disorders.
To Inhance: Mental an emotional peace, self confidence, independence,
emotional calm.
4. Heart Chakra
Location: Just where you would think. Over the Heart.
Color: Apple Green or Rose
Attributes: This is the center of Love. Both Love of others
and of self. The ability to care for others, and
the ability to care for yourself. All healing
passes through this Chakra even if it is centered
in one of the other Centers, because the basis of
all healing is Love.
Gem Stones and Crystals: Rose Quartz, Jade, Green Tourmaline,
Watermelon Tourmaline (think Rose and
Green stones!)
For Healing: Loss of connection with others, inferiority feelings, lack
of self love, high blood pressure, heart problems.
To Inhance: Self Love, prosperity, joy, psychic sensitivity, Universal
Love, feelings of protection and safety.
5. Throat Chakra
Location: Base of the neck.
Color: Clear Light Blue. Color of the daytime sky.
Attributes: Creativity, communication, expression, speech, hearing.
What we tell ourselves as well as what we tell others.
(If I may digress..we are now in the area of the higher Centers..
and this particular center is so VERY important to all of us on the Link!!)
Gem Stones and Crystals: Aquamarine, Lapis Lazuli (be careful with
this one) , Blue Quartz, Blue Floride
For Healing: Lack of Access to Q-Link ;), sore throats, inability to
communicate your feelings, not saying what you really
mean, writer's block.
To Inhance: Honesty with self and others, writing and speaking skills,
communication skills, ability to put ego aside and teach, speak, write
or lecture as a channel for the Higher Self.
6. Brow or Third Eye Chakra
Location: Just above and between the physical eyes.
Color: Indigo Blue
Attributes: This is the place of ideals and idealism. Of knowing
the unseen and spiritual. The place where conscious and subconsciousness
knowing join. Here we are clairvoyant and intuitive, and we experience
a "knowing" that is removed from logic and facts.
Gem Stones and Crystals: Blue Sapphire, Dark Aquamarine, Sodalite,
Moonstone
For Healing: Closed mindedness, headaches, negative thinking, fevers,
burns, infections.
To Inhance: Mental abilities, ability to learn lessons and integrate
knowledge, ability to distinguish reality from illusion,
expansion of consciousness and spirituality.
7. Crown Chakra
Location: Top of the head, slightly to the back.
Color: Clear Violet.
Attributes: Peace and connection with your higher self are the skills
and gifts of the Crown Chakra. Here information enters
directly from the Source. This is the place of pure knowing
and pure intuition. This center is the place of entry for all
healing and self healing energy.
Gem Stones and Crystals: Amethyst, White Opal, Selenite/Desert Rose.
For Healing: slow metabolism, confusion, grief, burn out, worry, stress.
To Inhance: Connection with Higher Self, telepathy, inner knowing, purity
of wisdom, meditations, inner reality, understanding
These explanations of the 7 Major Chakras and their Gem Stone and
Crystal connections are very basic and simple ones. But they might give
you a starting point for your own explorations.
Meditate on each of your centers, and visualize them as vital, light-
filled, revolving wheels. See them sparkle with their special color. In
order to focus on a particular chakra, hold one of the Gem Stones to which
it corresponds.
